I am blessed to be alive, blessed to hold on to life, the candle that burns, and the candle that withstands the wind!! The candle of hope that lights up the darkest corners of this world,
The candle in the wind!!!
I am blessed to experience the best of the best, the best of humans around me, I cherish the finest moments I share with friends and family and the greatest of the greatest
Sir Elton John
I am no one to talk or write about his music. At the age of 71 when he performed nonstop, I mean it, nonstop to a crowd of passionate music lovers, 23,500 of them. 2 hours 30 minutes of soul stopping music,
M2M connecting Man to Music, Mind to Music.
He was in absolute command of the stage, and he was in charge, nothing took the spirit of music away, he and his unbelievably amazing crew of a hand full, his longtime soul mates who resonated his pulse on strings, percussions and keyboards reaching out to the souls of every human present.
Guitar strings- Davey Johnstone, drums – Nigel Olsson, percussion – Ray Cooper, John Mahon, keyboards – Kim Bullard and bass Matt Bissonette.
I can never decipher and remember the lyrics of the songs but for any one of you who believe in passionate music, you should attend his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour”. It was purely a feast of music vocal and absolutely heart pounding jams, vamps, with Sir Elton John taking lead of the musical vamps
His energy level was electric; it was a festival of music, which filled the soul of every spectator, it was such an informal event, everything was so musical, even when he paused to take a few sips of water a couple of times, and a few slips to change his attire, the flashy costumes.
It made me tear, and I could see people on my left, right, back and front do the same when he said
Love is the cure for what’s happening in the world today, we need to be nicer to each other.” He compelled the crowd to embrace “the healing power of compassion and love… it’s exactly what needs to happen in the world now.”
He talked about 9/11 when it happened, everyone hugged everyone, no one discussed politics, religion, gender, positions in life, and everyone felt the need to be together. The same feeling we had in Kerala during the flood. Now soon, very soon we have forgotten all that and we have started the bickering and rat race after everything that has no relevance in life!!!
Everyone has a gift, he said “my gift is my song, and, this one’s for you.” and he has shared his gift, with absolute sincerity and connected to humans around the world.
It became so meaningful when, Sir Elton John said his priorities has changed and now his life is to support the millions of people around the world suffering with AIDS, his charity towards people with AIDS, it made many rethink their purpose of life and that was the take home message for all.
He reached out to his viewers, his people and thanked them for buying tickets and attending his concert. Yes this is where we experience the humility in real talents and performers who are larger than life, who are passionate about their profession and they do it out of respect for us the people.
They give their best, but this best was too big a best, it will stay in our minds forever and remind us of the little time we have and the much we have to do, to make a small difference in this world for the generations to come.
We cannot stop the effort, we have to go on doing the best we can
LOVE
LOVE is the only ANSWER!!!
Someone saved my life tonight, someone saved my life tonight
