A place for everything and everything in place!!!!
New techniques to withstand natural calamities should be used in the construction method, however the convenience should not be compromised, our homes should have what is fundamentally needed for any human to live a decent life.
We need to raise the living and happiness index of our people, we need to make sure our fellow citizens need to have the space and fundamental needs to function and lead a progressive life.
We do not want them to feel deprived anymore! just because they are born to parents with lesser money, It was not anyone’s choice, its our responsibility, the states responsibility to make sure Rebuilding brings Rethinking of the lifestyle of our people. Its not good enough to give 4 walls, a roof and a door. I am not asking for any luxury, I am not asking for granite and plush interiors.
Sharing plan and pictures of home we started to build for my colleagues at Kollam and various parts of Kerala. Nearly 4 years ago.
Cost reducing techniques we adopted in planning,
Height – 2.5 mts ( we can have ceiling fan )
Windows – 1 mt high and is placed just under the roof slab – SAVING lintel and enables windows to be left open 24×7.
Labour cost substantially reduced, there is no scaffolding required for the activities.
Privacy is maintained no one can see from outside, however we can see out.
A tiny sit out
All 3 Bed Rooms are ensuite, attached bath, WC and a small self sufficient Walk in WardRobe. provision to hang worn clothes
Utility for creative activity like sewing etc, study table, ironing etc. specific location for fridge, microwave, washing machine, a tiny dry pantry in the dining area.
Drawing Dining Hall with dedicated pooja cupboard, electrical panel cupboard, TV cupboard, hidden wash basin,

Cost can be considerably reduced by using low cost material and construction methods. All I could do was do the design and make sure everything I have used is provided for…
