Shall We
I love people and I love homes, doesn’t matter to whom it belongs to, I simply love to tidy the place I am in, whether it is a home, school, office, public places, trains, planes, bus, hotel rooms everywhere. There are some basics I carry with me wherever I am. I try to use whatever is available around me and I want to take this opportunity to share what I have done over the years and how I manage my home. Easy ways, sustainable ways, very practical ways.
Wherever I go I carry with me very affordable over the door hooks, which is available in practically every dollar shop around the world and china markets. I am sure they are available in India.
This is a revolutionary product which instantly changes your room to a tidy and organized room, takes away the worn clothes from lying all over the bed, cupboard doors, table, chair, floor and what not. Each one needs one and we can hang it on the door and bathroom doors provided there is enough gap to hook it on. It’s so thin the flat plate goes in without a problem. Next is in kitchen for anything you want to hang.
You can use various types of hooks with different load bearing capacity, on walls, doors, cupboard sides etc. make sure you use proper installation methods and it doesn’t fall off!!
I make my own with the waste wood reaper and “S” hooks from the hardware shop, to suit the space I have and with enough of hooks to accommodate my clothes.
I use these for brooms in the back of the house and in the store or work area or garage, never allow the broom and mop to touch the floor don’t keep them in a corner it will go bad and will smell, hang them. For this you can use screws and not expensive S hooks on a reaper.
I hang all my cooking utensils and gadgets on the wall, believe me I don’t like drawers and expensive cupboards in kitchen, I just use open shelves and all my spices and provisions are out in the open, hence it stays clean all the time no clutter ever. There is no excuse and escape from cleaning
Tools for garden and home all are hung on such hooks; easy to locate, never loses them, as it always shows when anything is missing. These days I take a picture and saves it, if anyone makes an excuse they have never seen it before.
I want to share with you a piece of furniture I grew up with, as a child at home, Its more than 50 years old, made at home a cupboard all in ONE, for good and personal belongings on one side with a closed door and another side well ventilated for used clothes and laundry basket. . Amazing
